Dr. Liem Nguyen

Dr. Nguyen likes to think long-term and says that his ideal way of helping a patient involves building a lifelong relationship with them so he can ensure they reach and maintain optimal oral health for decades. He hopes to form this kind of bond with you, but before that, you can learn more about him below.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Despite three of his four siblings also being dentists, Dr. Nguyen actually started his career by being a registered nurse for six years. During this time, he witnessed firsthand the importance of maintaining good dental health because he had to take care of many patients who had to rely on feeding tubes because they couldn’t eat due to ill-fitting dentures or infections. He ended up shadowing in his older brother’s dental office, and watching him help anxious patients get what they need, inspired him to enter the dental field as well.

Where Did You Study
Dentistry?

After attending the University of Houston for his undergraduate degree, Dr. Nguyen went on to graduate from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) School of Dental Medicine. Since then, he has completed advanced training focused on sedation, laser dentistry, and dental implant surgery. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the Academy of Laser Dentistry.

What Do You Like to Do Outside of the Dental Office?

Dr. Nguyen and his wife, Uny, have two young children, Lincoln and Layne, as well as a Shiba Inu, Uhtred (named after the main character from the TV show The Last Kingdom). He likes to stay active when he isn’t working and has even completed multiple ironman races and two marathons. They enjoy being fit as a family, and on the weekends, you’ll often find Dr. Nguyen spending time in his garage gym with his son.
